Why have we made this change?

We understand that there are some areas that practitioners are more concerned about than others. The McGivern report, commissioned by the GOsC, showed that the biggest areas of concern are consent, communicating risks, record keeping and patient modesty and dignity. 22% of osteopaths worry about their practice complying with the standards. Purchase the information you need to reduce your worry and give you the knowledge and confidence to be compliant.

Many osteopaths work as associates and therefore some areas of practice such as health and safety are not their responsibility. Be careful though, if you are self-employed many responsibilities still lie with you. If your practice doesn’t have a complaints procedure, encourage them to put one in place to be compliant, otherwise make sure you have your own procedures in place.

We want practitioners to be free from worry about compliance and to be confident in their procedures. We want to save you the time of researching policies and procedures.  Private practice should have a reputation for providing consistently high standards of care in every aspect of the patient journey. Let’s work together to achieve this…
