Some people suggest that the patient group that visits private osteopaths are not likely to have any safeguarding issues. I personally don’t think we should judge in this way. From 31st October 2015 it has become a mandatory duty in England and Wales for health and social care professionals and teachers to report any ‘known’ cases of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) to the police.
